[Pollodelmar] Pollo Del Mar June- Surf Battle 2 and SLACKTONE!

Hi Pollo Fans,
3 special shows happening this month, the first is
next Saturday, June 11 near Santa Cruz at the
(haunted) Brookdale Lodge. We will be playing with old
pals The Berzerkers and Surf Cinema, and a Santa Cruz
band we have wanted to see for a while- The Concaves.

The following Sunday, June 19, Pollo Del Mar will host
the second annual KFJC Battle of the Bands at the
Hotel Utah in San Francisco. Last years event was a
blast, and the Utah was packed. This year's show
features a return to surf music by Rick Escobar of The
Woodies. Also on the bill: The Berzerkers, The
Pyronauts, The Aquamarines, Surf Cinema, The Neptunes,
The Lava Rats, The Concaves, Drifting Sand, The
Coppertones , The Del Mars. This show is a benefit for
KFJC Radio. There is no baseball game, so there will
be plenty of free parking, and the Utah will have the
BBQ going- a great way to spend Father's Day.

And a special show on Tuesday, June 21 (the first day
of Summer!) SLACKTONE comes north at the invitation of
Guitar Player Magazine for a showcase show The Boom
Boom Room in San Francisco. The Boom Boom is a classy
address for surf music, so come support the reverb!

In other news, we just heard that John Blair wrote in
Discoveries Magazine that Pollo Del Mar's "The Golden
State" CD is his pick for "Surf Album of the Year".
Given that it is only June, that is a pretty big
honor!

Finally, some bad news. The Mermen were playing a show
in Las Vegas and their trailer with all of their
equipment (Guitars, drums, amps, light show-
everything) was stolen. They have posted an equipment

the pawnshops, keep your eyes open.
